He was born on July 28, 1940, in Casey, IL, to Eddie and Marie Garrett. He had three brothers, Don, Riley, and Harry, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his son, Bryon (Pat) Garrett, and three daughters, Timi Czarnecki, Dana (Brad) Benedetti, and Krista (Nick) Franzen, as well as 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
In Wilbur’s younger years he liked swimming, water skiing, and dancing, among other things. Throughout his life, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and playing games around the table. His favorite place at home became his front porch, where he watched wildlife and chatted with visitors. He loved talking and laughing with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. We will miss his humor and family stories.
We are sad that his time here with us is over, but we know this separation is temporary. Our shared faith in Jesus Christ gives us great comfort in knowing we will see him again.
Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta is assisting the family.
