Vincent Eugene “Gene” Warnisher

Los Fresnos – Vincent Eugene “Gene” Warnisher, 78, of Los Fresnos, TX, formerly of Lincoln, passed away at Harlingen Medical Center in Harlingen, TX, on Thursday, June 13, 2024.

Services for Gene will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lincoln. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lincoln. Military Rites to be accorded by Lincoln American Legion Post #263.

Vincent Eugene Warnisher was born on September 1, 1945, the son of Vincent G. and Dorothy Eimer Warnisher. He was united in marriage to Linda Rayburn on February 14, 1969. She survives.

Gene is also survived by three sons: Chance (Patsy) Warnisher, Cole (Tonya) Warnisher, and Clint (Jennifer) Warnisher, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one brother, Joseph (Suzanne) Warnisher.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Gene was born at Camp Lejeune and went on to become a United States Marine who served his country in the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of Lincoln Community High School and later he was employed by the City of Lincoln Street Department for 20 years.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and enjoyed hunting and gardening.

Memorials may be made to DAV (Disabled American Veterans) organization.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Peasley Funeral Home of Lincoln.

  1. I was friends with Gene and Linda in the park at Los Fresnos,Tx. I saw them and talked to them and their puppy almost every day. I really liked Gene and really appreciated his service to our country. I will miss him and hope that I can help Linda and their family with whatever help they need here in Los Fresnos.
