Atlanta – Tina M. Small, 67, of Atlanta, passed away at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
Services for Tina will be held at Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta on Monday, September 28, 2026. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. and will conclude with a Memorial Service at 6:00 p.m. led by Rev. Deborah J. Johnston. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
Tina Hinthorn was born March 21, 1959, in Bloomington, the daughter of Roger J. and Emma L. Bratcher Hinthorn. She was united in marriage to Rick Small on April 9, 1977. He survives.
Tina is also survived by her children: D.J. (Jamie Anderson) Small, Denny (Kayla Swearingen) Small, and Daniel Small; several grandchildren, one great-grandson, and one sister, Brenda Lowry.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Tina was a 1977 graduate of Bloomington High School. Following her marriage to Rick, she embraced the life of an Army wife. Upon military retirement, Tina worked at Odd Fellowes in Lincoln in the late 1990s. She and Rick settled in Atlanta and became members of the Atlanta United Methodist Church where Tina had also worked as custodian. In her spare time, Tina enjoyed crocheting, traveling, and spending time with her grandkids.
Memorials may be made to Atlanta Rescue Squad or Atlanta United Methodist Church.
