Thomas E. Aldridge

Atlanta – Thomas E. Aldridge, 81, of Atlanta, passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.

Thomas E. Aldridge was born September 18, 1944, in Mason City, Iowa. He was the son of Max Stephens and Wanda Schaeffer. He was united in marriage to Bobbie Swarner on December 30, 1961. They shared 62 years of marriage.

Thomas is survived by four children: Timothy A. (Mi Ok) Aldridge, Gina M. Reames, Sara (Greg) Heft, and Misty Lou Follick; eleven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; one sister: Janet (Bobby) Ellington; and four brothers: Pat (Peggy) Stephens, Mike (Laurie) Stephens, Steve Stephens, and Larry (Sandy) Stephens.

He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

Thomas was a graduate of Mason City High School in Iowa and also completed a bachelor’s degree. He retired from the Union Pacific Railroad as a Senior Special Agent after 35 years of service. Thomas enjoyed working with his hands, especially woodworking. He was very into motorcycles and built them from the frame up.

Private family services are scheduled with Pastor Bob Clark officiating. Cremation Rites will follow.

Memorials may be made to the Atlanta Rescue Squad.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.

  1. It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that I learned about the passing of my dear and best friend, Tom. We begin our railroad special agent careers in Chicago in the late sixties. In our promotions and transfers, we learned that we could always trust and rely on each other. I will always treasure and remember Tom and those precious memories until we reunited again in Heaven. I celebrate this well lived life knowing that Tom has fought the good fight and met all challenges with courage and determination. God Bless…
