Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Irish Grove Cemetery in rural Middletown, Illinois.
Rudy was born on October 29, 1944, in Lincoln, the son of Rudolph and Ilda Boward Heyen.
He is survived by his children: Lori Heyen and Brent Heyen; one brother: Gary (Janet) Heyen; six grandchildren: Kevin Heyen, Brandon Heyen, Victoria (Adamm) Fitzpatrick Walker, David Heyen, Charlie Rose Heyen and Mike B. Heyen; and three great-grandchildren: Haisley Heyen, Lucas Heyen and Mia Schlotzhauer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sons: Kevin Heyen and Michael D. Heyen.
Rudy graduated from New Holland High School in 1962 and then Illinois State University where he was active on the Livestock Judging team. Rudy farmed in the Greenview and Middletown area. His hobbies were attending auctions, fairs, dancing, and building things.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

I’ve known Rudy’ for 60+ years. From bailing hay for Wayne Hanner as a teenager to showing helping our children raising and showing livestock. Rudy was a knowledgeable livestock man. He had his faults but if I needed help I could count on him..
