Atlanta – Roslie A. Hamblin, 87, of Atlanta, passed away at her home on Thursday, September 18, 2025.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Atlanta on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Joseph Dondanville officiating. Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 9:00 a.m. Cremation Rites will be accorded, and burial will be at a later date at the Atlanta Cemetery.

Roslie Ann Kaup was born June 23, 1938, in Champaign, the daughter of Frank and Eileen Stahl Kaup. She was united in marriage to Homer L. Hamblin, Jr. on July 30, 1956. He preceded Roslie in death on July 19, 2022.

Roslie is survived by three children, Gayle Hamblin, Laurie Hamblin, and Jim (Melissa) Hamblin; one daughter-in-law, Hortense Hamblin; eight grandchildren: Josie (Lance) Warren, Andrea (Matt) Armstrong, Daniel Hamblin, Tracy (Jason) Trimble, Leigh (Jimmie) Barr, Kyson Hamblin, Jamie Hamblin, and Meagan Hamblin; eleven great-grandchildren: Shawnee, Cayden, Addi, Aubrey, Aaron, Kaine, Seth, Kahle, Landen, Ryker, and Carlee; and one brother, David (Kathy) Kaup of North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Mark Hamblin; and two sisters: Barbara Wahls and Patricia Brown.

Roslie and Homer owned and operated Kaup / Hamblin’s Superette in Atlanta, having taken over from her parents. Between the two couples, they owned the small-town grocery store for 50 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Atlanta. Roslie and Homer had enjoyed square dancing, and she enjoyed sewing, reading, and word searches.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.
