Bloomington – Roger L. Nichols, 70, of Bloomington and Fairbury, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025, at his daughter’s home in Atlanta, IL.
*** A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the Danvers Baptist Church in Danvers with Rev. Bob Clark officiating. Cremation Rites have been accorded. Private burial will be at a later date. ***
Roger Lee Nichols was born June 28, 1955, in Chicago, the son of Lee and Evelyn Curtis Nichols. He was united in marriage to Jackie Christenson. She survives.
Roger is also survived by children: Kim (Chris) Frauli, Karen (Josh) Wiley, Greg Nichols, Louie (Claire) Nichols, Jody Nichols, Tim Nichols, Marty (Ashley) Nichols, Zak Nichols, Sally (Tyler) Smith, Sadie (Brandon) Bradford, and Baylee (Kyle) Knudsen; 19 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; one sister: Debbie (Rick) Gibson; niece Sandy Sumrall; and nephew Rickey Gibson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter-in-law, Robin, and nephew Ryan Gibson.
Roger grew up in the Dwight and Pontiac area and was a self-employed upholsterer. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his kids and grandkids.
