Lincoln, Illinois — Marilyn J. Conley, 84, of Lincoln, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Conley will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Jefferson Street Christian Church with Mr. Michael Mallick and Mr. Henry Johnson officiating.

Family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at Jefferson Christian Church.

Burial will be at a later date at Zion Cemetery in Lincoln.

Marilyn Jean Scales was born at the St. Clara’s Hospital in Lincoln on December 19, 1941, the daughter of Iver Walter and Augusta E. Lolling Scales. She was united in marriage to William H. “Bill” Conley on September 17, 1960. He preceded her in death on March 22, 2023.

Marilyn is survived by her sons: Rod (Shelly) Conley and Doug Conley; four grandchildren: Brian (Coralee) Stoltzenburg, Amber (Ryan) Eads, Cory Stoltzenburg, and Devan (Taylor) Duncheon; seven great-grandchildren: Bryson (Samatha Woolard) Eads, Tearney (Andrew Carder) Eads, Seth Evans, Emma (Noah Turley) Stoltzenburg, Kylee Eads, Kate Stoltzenburg, and Olivia Stoltzenburg; great-great-grandchildren: Paizley, Brynlee, Everleigh, Blayke and baby boy Carder on the way; and one brother: Jim Scales

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, one brother: Roger Scales, and one sister: Betty Walker.

Marilyn graduated from Hartsburg-Emden High School in 1959.  She was employed at Lehn and Fink for many years. She was a member of Jefferson Street Christian Church. Her hobbies included quilting, sewing, and taking long rides.
