Atlanta – Kenneth L. Gabbrants, 81, of Atlanta, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Hopedale Medical Center.
Cremation Rites have been accorded.
Services for Kenney will be held at Faith Assembly of God in Lincoln on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. led by Pastor Darren Palmer. Burial will be at Hartsburg Union Cemetery.
Kenneth L. Gabbrants was born April 1, 1942, in Lincoln, the son of Paul F. and Matilda Aper Gabbrants. He was united in marriage to Clarice E. Clauser on October 26, 1963. She preceded Kenney in death in 2019.
Kenney is survived by two sons: Greg (Danita) Gabbrants and Troy Gabbrants; four grandchildren: Christopher (Megan Erickson), Justin (Megan Short), Rachel Gabbrants, and Jessica (James) Gile; three great-grandchildren: Alexa, Karson, Ryann (plus Octavia on the way); and one brother: Gary (Linda) Gabbrants.
Kenney was a graduate of Hartsburg-Emden High School. He served in the Illinois National Guard. Through the years Kenny had worked as a police officer for the town of Emden and Logan County Sheriff’s Department and then for Brinks Security. He had also worked at Caterpillar, Lincoln Christian University in environmental services and as a school bus monitor. He was a member of Faith Assembly of God in Lincoln.
Memorials may be made to Faith Assembly of God or Hopedale Medical Center.
