Millsboro, DE — Jo Ann “Ann” Houghton, 77, of Millsboro, DE, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025.
Born in Lincoln, IL to the late Robert D. McKown and Susie Hope Irish, Ann was a graduate of Atlanta High School, class of 1966. She also was a graduate of the University of Illinois with a teaching degree in Mathematics.
Ann was a homemaker and a substitute teacher for 10 years for the Indian River School District. She generously and faithfully used her many gifts and talents to serve the Lord at her church, the Ocean View Church of Christ. She masterfully played the piano and organ, taught Sunday School, organized VBS, participated in many women ministries, regularly visited area nursing homes and led “Sing Along with Ann” and so much more. She was very dedicated to her family and adored being a Grandma.
Ann leaves behind her loving husband of 56 years, Delmar Daryl Houghton, II; children: Bobby (Kim) Houghton of Millsboro, DE and Kelly Rogers of Fruitland, MD; and five grandchildren: Jacob Rogers, Mia Rogers, Kaylynn Houghton, McKaylee Houghton, and Rory Houghton. She is also survived by her sister Karen Irwin of Lincoln, IL, along with many other members of extended family and friends.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m. at the Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home, 202 NW Vine St., Atlanta, IL.
