Funeral services will be held at the Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta, Illinois, on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. with Mr. Tyler Escoubas officiating.
Burial will be in Oakview Cemetery in Armington, Illinois.
She was born on March 23, 1933, in Armington, to Herman and Gladys Wert Bossingham. She was united in marriage to Gene Ludden on August 14, 1951. He preceded Helen in death on November 3, 2011.
Helen was a 1951 graduate of the Hittle Township High School and worked for Country Financial in Bloomington, Illinois. Upon her retirement, she moved with her husband Gene to Springfield where she spent time with family and especially enjoyed watching her two granddaughters play sports. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Springfield.
Helen is survived by her daughter: Valerie (Gary) Koch of Huntley; two granddaughters, Laura (Joe) Wargo of Lake-in-the-Hills and Kimberly (Dustin) Walker of Oswego; and five great-grandchildren: Westin Wargo, Emmerson Wargo, Lincoln Walker, Beau Walker, and Heath Walker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gene, four sisters: Irene Williams, Erma McDaniel, Estella Neff, and Maxine Tisdale. Two brothers: Jack Bossingham, and William Bossingham.
Memorials may be made to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church or the Animal Protective League.
