Lincoln – Gregg A. Laurence, 69, of Lincoln, passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.
Cremation Rites have been accorded.
Services for Gregg will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Jefferson Street Christian Church. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Mr. Michael Mallick and Mr. Mike Nichols. Please bring photos, memories, and stories to share.
Gregg Allan Laurence was born January 27, 1954, in Rockford, the son of Gerald W. and Fern Mari Margaret Pohl Laurence. He was united in marriage to Vicky Lewandowski on March 11, 1978, and they spent their next 45 years building a wonderful life and family togethers. She survives.
Their family consists of three children: Seth (Jessica) Laurence, Merideth (Wesley) Schrader, and Elizabeth Laurence and five grandchildren: Grace, Olive, Everett, Graham, and Audrey. He also has two brothers: Larry (Jane) Laurence and Lance (Linda) Laurence and one sister: Penny (Bob) Nunez.
Gregg graduated from Rockford Lutheran High School in 1971 and attended Rock Valley Junior College. He was a strong and loyal employee of Holland Trucking for 36 years. He attended Jefferson Street Christian Church and took pride in being a member of the safety team there. He enjoyed playing golf and pool, shooting guns, spending time with family, enjoying his grandkids and his dogs. Gregg was a deeply caring and giving husband, father, grandfather, friend, and neighbor. He instinctively exemplified the love of Christ to everyone he encountered. He maintained his sense of humor even in some especially difficult circumstances. But more than anything, he was and will always be loved and admired by his family.
Memorials may be made to Logan County Food Bank or Humane Society of Logan County.
Final arrangements are entrusted with Peasley Funeral Home.
