Lincoln — David W. Buchanan, 85, of Lincoln, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025, at his home.
Cremation Rites have been accorded.
David William Buchanan was born on October 24, 1939, in East Liverpool, Ohio the son of Clifford William and Jennie Mae McGrew Buchanan.
David is survived by his children: Vicki (Tom Conrady) Buchanan and Mike (Shirley) Buchanan; his two grandchildren: Kyle (Whitney Clayton) Shanle and Kelsey (Joel Johnson) Shanle; three great grandchildren: Kenzlee Shanle, Holden Shanle and Jett Johnson; and special friend: Karen Schwantz. Also surviving is his Aunt Beulah “Boo” McGrew Jones and cousin: Kirk (Annette) Schneider.
David graduated from Lincoln Community High School in 1957. He later graduated from Aurora College. He was employed at CILCO in Lincoln for 26 years as a meter reader.
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. His hobbies were watching basketball, doing crossword puzzles, and hunting, and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He also enjoyed taking care of his grandchildren.
David will always be remembered for his witty sense of humor and never missed a chance to tell a good story.
