Lincoln — Brenda J. Maas, 79, of Lincoln, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.
Funeral Services for Brenda will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln with Mrs. Rachael Judd officiating.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.
Burial will be at a later date in the Zion Cemetery in Lincoln.
Brenda Joyce Walraven was born on August 6, 1944, in Canton, Illinois, the daughter of Willis and Evelyn Carley Walraven. She was united in marriage to Gary Maas on November 17, 1963, at the United Brethren Church in Canton. He preceded her in death on November 20, 2010.
She is survived by her grandchildren: Blake Maas, Marty A. (Ryleigh) Maas, Tisha Abner, Tiffany Luxner, Evelyn Maas, and Justin Maas; daughters-in-law: Chrystal Maas and Regina Maas; two brothers: Carl Walraven and John Walraven; two sisters: Jean and Rose Ann; and one great-grandson: Marty A. Maas, Jr.
She was preceded in death by her three sons: Eric Maas, Brian Maas, and an infant son. One sister, Nancy, and one brother, Cecil, also preceded her in death.
Brenda graduated from the Canton High School in 1962. She had worked at the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital and Logan County Paramedic Association.
Her hobbies included bowling, reading, crocheting, knitting, and fishing.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Final arrangements are entrusted with Peasley Funeral Home of Lincoln.
