Lincoln — Leah Kay Newton, 68, of Lincoln, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at the Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur.
A Memorial Service for Kay will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at the Jefferson Street Christian Church in Lincoln with Mr. Michael Mallick officiating.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be at a later date in Bethel Cemetery in Emden.
Leah Kay Olson was born on October 28, 1953, in Hopedale, the daughter of Harlan K. and Mary Whittaker Olson. She was united in marriage to Jim Newton on October 23, 1971. He survives.
Also surviving are her children: Brittany Newton and Beau Newton; four grandchildren: Austin Newton, Dustin Newton, Gavyn Aderman, and Kiera Newton; one brother: Larry (Beth) Olson; and one sister: Marla Lewis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers: Dale Olson and Kevin Olson.
Kay graduated from the Hartsburg-Emden High School in 1971. She retired as a Crossing Guard at Central School. Her hobbies included having coffee with friends, reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Logan County or the Kidney Foundation.
