Lincoln — Jeremy Lawrence Fowler passed away peacefully on November 4, 2023, in his apartment in Lincoln.
The coroner has determined that he died of natural causes and that his MS contributed to his death. Cremation Rites have been accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Graveside Services are pending.
Jeremy was born on April 1,1980, at OSF St. Mary’s in Galesburg. He graduated from Avon Senior High School as a member of the class of 1998. He then joined the US Navy, serving 8 years. Upon returning to civilian life, he settled in New York City for a few years until eventually returning to central Illinois.
Jeremy is survived by his mother, Penny (Tom) Boyd of Avon, IL; three siblings: Jessica (Marcos) Sanchez of Galesburg, Nichole (Joseph) Bonifas of Plainfield, IL, and Daniel (Audra) Boyd of Abingdon, IL. He is also survived by his grandmother, Maxine Hendricks of Galesburg, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Ted and Jeana Benham of Bushnell were also an important part of Jeremy’s life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ellery D Fowler, Jr, of Knoxville, and grandparents Lawrence Hendricks of Galesburg, TX, and Pauline Fowler of E. Dubuque, and Toot and JoAnn Boyd of Avon.
Jeremy enjoyed spending time with all of his grandparents. He was an avid baseball card collector and liked to go fishing whenever he was able.
