Atlanta – Alice M. Turner, 93, of Atlanta, passed away at Goldwater Care in Clinton on Thursday, December 25, 2025.
Services for Alice will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Eminence Christian Church in rural Atlanta. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by Funeral Services at 12:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be led by Mr. Henry Johnson and Mr. Gil Turner. Burial will follow at Mountjoy Cemetery.
Alice M. Bicknell was born July 30, 1932, in Atlanta, the daughter of Leland “Nick” and Bertha Beare Bicknell. She was united in marriage to Marvin Gene Turner on February 3, 1951. He preceded Alice in death on December 7, 1981.
Alice is survived by three children: Jeff (Doris) Turner, Sue (Terry) Rich, and Kathi J. Shay; four grandchildren: Jamie Turner, Nikki (Jerritt) Williams, Erik (Holly Thomas) Rich, and Jessie (Chris) Lazarus; five great-grandchildren: Caleb, Gracie, Taylor, Natalia and Ayden; and one brother, Richard (Jan) Bicknell.
Alice was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Terry Shay and one sister, Audra G. Van Hoorn.
Alice owned and operated Turner Bonnie Brae Gardens in Atlanta for many years. She had worked at State Farm Insurance as a secretary in downtown Bloomington and also had volunteered at and then managed the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Gift Shop. She was a member of Eminence Christian Church and enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting, and gardening.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Hope-Funks Grove Library in McLean, Atlanta Rescue Squad or Eminence Christian Church.
