Mary Lee Williams was born on August 20, 1941, in Lincoln, the daughter of Charles A. and Agnes Landers Williams. She was united in marriage to Robert Bammann on September 17, 1987. He survives.
Also surviving are her children: Kimberly Crane, Doug (Shannon McCloud) Williams, and Brian (Kari) Bammann; and two grandchildren: Brandon (Joli Boerma-Crane) Crane and Christopher Crane.
She was preceded in death by infant daughter Diana Manning, her parents, one brother, and three sisters.
Mary graduated from the Lincoln Community High School in 1959. She had worked as a secretary for Governor Dan Walker’s office, and Secretary of State’s office. She retired as a Department of Corrections Officer after 20 years of service at Logan Correctional Center in Lincoln.
To know Mary was to understand the adage, “the best things come in small packages.” Standing just 5 feet tall, she possessed a natural beauty that radiated from within, illuminating every life she touched.
Mary never met a stranger. Her friendly, compassionate, and energetic spirit drew people to her like a warm light. Whether you were family, a lifelong friend, or someone she had just met, Mary had a remarkable ability to make you feel instantly welcomed and deeply loved. A simple conversation with her was enough to leave with a smile that lingered long after you parted ways.
Mary will be remembered for her friendliness, kindness, compassion and outgoing personality. Her radiant smile and open heart touched all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but the warmth of her friendship and enduring impact of her generosity will forever remain in the hearts of those she loved.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Alzheimer’s Foundation.
Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

I worked with Mary for a few years and I will always remember her smile. She was always upbeat and was just a joy to be around. She never met a stranger and had the best personality you could ever imagine. The past few years was not the most pleasant for her but if you knew her at all s he is smiling now.
Will never forget you Mary. R.I.P.
